It was an ASV, so not sure what the issue was and I even contacted them about it. I run shorties on most of my bikes, so not an issue with shorties themselves. Theyre fully adjustble and tried all settings, I guess maybe an issue with the leverage at the pivot point section on master cylinder. MZS is a cheap aftermarket products, ASV is a high quality products. not 100% sure where they're made, but the difference is noticeable. It's up to you how to spend your money. I'm still rocking the MZS even for heavy street riding and never had any mechanical or breaking issues (just some discoloration on the anodized parts)..
